Tries to read the serial number off the keyboard which fails, both in software and the physical imprint on the gray liner. (Interesting sidebar: my HomePod also appeared on the diagnostic screen). But, I added truthfully, “I know it’s well past warranty but I know that sometimes there are known issues that allow for exceptions and I guess in my heart I just expected a little more for $150.” Admit that I am not “easy” on my gear (as if the keyboard itself doesn’t speak to that), that if the solution is that I need to buy a new keyboard I will not be surprised or upset.
